First time I picked ‘The 4-Hour Workweek’ at the bookstore I thought: This guy must be lazy as hell.
I’ve heard a lot of recommendations on this book, so I went against my initial resistance and finally bought the book and skimmed through it.
This was three years ago.
I didn’t like. Still, I thought that Tim Ferriss was just a lazy-ass and that his pieces of advice weren’t realistic.
This summer, I picked that book again as I kept getting recommendations for it.
I read it thoughtfully, from page 1.
And man! You know the maxim “When the student is ready, the master will appear.”
I understood what Tim is about, and we’re on the same page.
Also, I understood his genius. He did create a lifestyle business when it wasn’t even a thing.
Or, better, he created the whole lifestyle business industry.
What Tim argues is that being a ‘New Rich’ in our century means having location independence more than earning more Ks.
As my loved ones always come first for me, and one of the reasons why I’m an Internet entrepreneur in the first place, ‘The 4-Hour Workweek’ quickly became one of my favorite business books.
In this article, I’m going to go through Tim Ferriss’ story, how he created his net worth, including my favorite quotes from him.
Tim Ferriss is an entrepreneur, author, and angel investor, born in East Hampton, New York. After graduating from Princeton and dabbling in a corporate job, he launched BrainQUICKEN, an internet business commercializing supplements that later sold for an undisclosed amount.
He gained world-recognized thanks to his books series ‘4 Hour’, which included ‘The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich’, ‘ The 4 Hour Body’, and ‘The 4 Hour Chef.’
He later published two other best-selling books, “Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons, and World-Class Performers” and “Tribe of Mentors: Short Life Advice from the Best in the World” in which he interviewed iconic entrepreneurs to elite athletes, from artists to billionaire investors such as Gary Vaynerchuk, Steven Pressfield, and Tim O’Reilly.
Currently, his main endeavor it’s his podcast ‘”The Tim Ferriss Show” launched in 2016, where he interviewed guests such as Richard Branson, Ramit Sethi, Wim Hof, etc.
Tim Ferriss is also an angel investor and advisor to Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Evernote, and Uber, among other companies.
As of 2019, Tim Ferriss’s net worth is of roughly $100 million.
Here are some of the best highlights of Tim Ferriss’s career:
